PAOLO TOMALINO was born in Rocchetta Tanaro (Asti), in the north-western part of Italy, not far from Torino. As he child his passion for music was really very strong and at 11 years old he started studying viola at the music school “A. VIVALDI” in Alessandria and at the same time he studied piano too.
At the age of 15 he began singing and playing in a band; when he graduated he decided to carry on his job as a singer and pianist. Since 1966 he performed in various Italian cities such as Milano, Firenze, Torino, Roma, Riccione, in Sardinia (Emerald Coast), etc. and from 1971 to 1974 he played in the Caribbean Islands on the cruise ship Oceanic. During those years he published his first record with his band in New York. Until 1980 he performed in different places all over the world such as Dubai, Switzerland, France, Canada and Japan.
He performed in Tokyo with his band for the first time in 1976 at Copacabana (Akasaka) until 1980, when he decided to dissolve the band and he started his profession as solo singer and pianist in several piano bars in Italy, France. Switzerland participating in different television programmes too (RAI 1 – RAI 2 – PRIMANTENNA – TELECITY – TELECUPOLE). In that period he published many records of his original songs. In 1985 he went back to Tokyo playing and singing in Roppongi, Akasaka, Nishiazabu (CIBREO restaurant) and in 1992 he published a CD single with Columbia Records as solo singer in the group “TAVERNA”. Since the opening he played for almost 11 years in “Hakone Garasu no Mori” (Venetian Glass Museum) at Caffè Terrazza.
